Bottom Line

The Vitamix 7500 is a compact low-profile blender but still manages to have a large capacity of 64 oz. It also has a powerful engine and this makes it ideal for commercial use.

Introduction

Large capacity and compact are not words that go hand-in-hand that often. However, with the Vitamix 7500, they do. This blender comes with a 64-oz. container, which is quite large, but in a low-profile design that makes it compact as compared to its peers.

This model has much more to offer so let’s jump right into the review below to find out more.

Performance: Precise 10-Speed Variable Control

One of the greatest strengths of the Vitamix 7500 is its 10 variable speed settings. A dial at the center of the control panel allows you to adjust to any of these speeds, which are labeled 1-10 with 10 being the fastest.

With these, you can adjust the setting to refine the texture of every blend, from smooth purees to soups, with culinary precision.

Additionally, there is a toggle switch on the panel for turning on the pulse setting and this spins the motor at a very high RPM to blend at a very high speed.

This setting gives you more manual control so that you can make complex recipes such as layering coarse chops over smooth purees or creating chunky salsas.

The combination of this pulse plus 10 speeds attests to Vitamix’s claims that you don’t need more horses (horsepower); trained horses are better (more control is better).

That said, power is provided by a 2.2 horsepower motor, which is strong enough to blend hard and whole-food ingredients, as well as ice.

The motor spins a set of hardened aircraft-grade stainless steel blades, which are laser cut to maintain maximum strength and rigidity. They are designed to slice through the hardest ingredients while maintaining resistance to dulling or bending.

Connecting the motor to the blades is an all-metal drive system, which is very durable and transmits the rotary motion without slipping.

To maintain optimal performance, the motor is cooled using a radial fan and in case temperatures go very high, a thermal protection system kicks in to shut it off. If this happens, turn off and unplug the blender then let it rest for a few minutes to cool down.

Design: Low Profile

Despite having a large 64-oz. jar, Vitamix’s 7500 is quite compact for its size and this can be attributed to its low-profile design.

This means it is short but wide and thus, you get enough space to prepare meals for your family and even guests, after which you can comfortably fit it under your kitchen cabinet. The combined height of the jar and motor base goes up to 17.5 inches, which is relatively short.

However, since it is wider, the blender has a relatively large footprint, which measures 9.1 inches in length and 7.7 inches in width. Therefore, you get a trade-off between the height and base size.

Functionality and Versatility: Foodies Will Like It

Vitamix’s 7500 multiple speeds are a plus because they enable you to create classic recipes and explore new ingredients to make new recipes.

Some of the classics that this blender is known for include frozen treats, smoothies, juices, baby food, dips, spreads, dressings, sauces, etc. You can also use it to grind nuts and coffee, mix batter and dough for baking or pastry, or make hot soup.

Soup warming is quite an advantage because you don’t need a stove. Due to its fast spins, the friction between the blades and the soup can bring it to a high temperature in just under 10 minutes and this makes it very convenient.

Therefore, as a foodie, this is definitely something that will work for you.

For easier use, a tamper is included to help you process thick blends and scrape the sides in case the ingredients are very stubborn. You also get a cookbook that gives you recipes of all your favorite drinks to help you get started.

Note: When dealing with hot ingredients, always begin processing at a low speed then work your way up to the desired speed. This is different as compared to when heating soup as explained above because that requires the maximum speed for maximum friction to generate heat.

Operating instructions are included in the user manual for detailed guidance.

Maintenance: Self Cleans

This blender’s pitcher is not dishwasher-safe. However, it does have a trick up its sleeve that makes it easy to clean.

Once you are done blending, pour in warm water and a drop of dish soap in the jar then spin it at the highest speed setting (10). The rotary motion cleans the blades and spreads the soapy water to all other sections inside, leaving it clean in as little as 60 seconds.

The process is very simple because no disassembly is required. As for the exterior though (including the motor base surface), wipe using a damp cloth to get rid of any stains.

Loudness: Manages Noise to Some Extent

Though very powerful, this model is not very noisy. CNET compared it to the Blendtec Designer WildSide+ and discovered that the Vitamix 7500 does a better job of managing noise. Therefore, you can comfortably use it in the house or your business premises.

Price: Expensive But Worth It

Though this product is very expensive, it has the features that match its price. Additionally, Vitamix is a trusted brand that has been in this business for over 80 years, and therefore, quality is almost guaranteed.

That said, the company has several blenders in its line up and these are primarily categorized as smart system blenders and classic blenders.

This model is a classic and the classification basically means it has dials and switches instead of a modern touch interface with digital displays and other advanced tech features.

As such, when doing a comparison, it is only right to put it up against its peers in the classic series and the closest ones include the Vitamix 5200 and Professional Series 750.

The 5200 is slightly cheaper but lacks a low-profile pitcher, which makes it taller. On the other hand, the 750 costs more than the one under review but is more advanced because it has 5 presets.

These automate the self-cleaning process, as well as the processes of making smoothies, purees, soup, frozen dessert.

Verdict

A compact high capacity blender that is recommended for commercial use.

The low-profile pitcher in this blender gives it a compact design and despite this, it has a capacity of 64 oz., which is very large. As such, it can be used at home if you are a foodie, if you have a large family or if you want to entertain multiple guests.

However, it is recommended for commercial use because it is very costly and might be overqualified for your home, especially if you are not a foodie. If you don’t mind the price though, get it and enjoy versatility, power, and practicality in a single package.
